Sunday 10th Feb

My legs ached today after yesterdays cycle.  Spent the morning working on the house, progressing well but still lots to do.

In the afternoon I wanted to go for a light cycle but turned out to be futher than I thought! I went to Yalding and back, stopping on the way to see my grandmother.  I could really feel the ache in my legs but was plesently surprised when I looked at the speedo.

Todays Stats

Distance 14.81 miles

Max Speed 36.5 mph (Down Pixot Hill)

Time 1hr 15mins 17secs

Average Speed 11.8 mph

I want to find some sort of software to track my rides better, I am currently using cycling secrets – which is pretty basic, I could probably do a better job in excel.  Does anyone have any ideas?  Also it would be good to show maps on this blog of my route, I was going to look at investing in Microsoft Autoroute as I think it has a highlight function and then I can save them as image files. But if anyone has a better suggestion please let me know!

  1. MS-Excel can do a very good job with basic cycling statistics. You may have to do some basic spreadsheet coding depending on the kind of sorting or analysis you’re interested in. One of the first things you have to learn is how to tell Excel to convert 1 hr 15 min 17 secs to 1.2547 hours, without having to enter the raw time into three cells.
